USABurien Deputy Arrests Woman After Fentanyl Discovered During Downtown Patrol

Burien, Washington — A routine patrol in downtown Burien led to a drug arrest after a deputy observed a woman actively using drugs early Wednesday morning, according to the Burien Police Department.

At approximately 10 a.m., a Burien deputy noticed a female suspect engaging in suspected drug use. The deputy made contact and identified the woman. Field testing of the substance she was smoking returned a positive result for fentanyl.

During a subsequent search, deputies located additional narcotics on the woman’s person, including methamphetamine.

Further investigation revealed the suspect had an outstanding warrant for DUI and theft. Authorities also confirmed she was wanted out of California on separate matters.

The woman was taken into custody and transported to jail, where she was booked on the outstanding warrants and drug-related charges.
