Kent Police Department detectives are investigating a homicide following a fatal stabbing early Friday morning in the West Hill area of Kent.
According to police, officers were dispatched at approximately 12:34 a.m. to an apartment complex in the 25700 block of 27 Place South after receiving a 911 call reporting an unwanted subject. The first responding officer arrived within minutes and found a 26-year-old man in the parking lot suffering from severe bleeding.
The victim was conscious but unable to speak. Officers immediately began lifesaving measures and requested medical assistance. A significant wound to the victim’s torso, consistent with a stab wound, was located. Officers attempted to control the bleeding, including placing a chest seal over the wound.
Medics transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died during surgery.
Police and detectives interviewed multiple people at the apartment complex. Initial information suggests the incident was isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
