Auburn WA Police Department marked International Women’s Day by highlighting the contributions of women serving in law enforcement and supporting the community.

The department shared a post on social media recognizing the “incredible women who serve our community every day,” noting that while only a few were pictured, they represent many women working across the department.

The post featured several photos of female officers and staff engaging with residents, patrolling neighborhoods, and participating in community outreach events. In one image, an officer poses proudly beside the U.S. flag at the department, while others show officers interacting with residents in public spaces and assisting community members.

According to the department, the celebration was meant to acknowledge the dedication and professionalism of women working in a range of roles, from patrol officers to support staff.

International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on March 8 to recognize the achievements of women and promote gender equality worldwide. Police departments and public agencies across the United States often use the day to highlight the growing role of women in public service and law enforcement.

The Auburn WA Police Department said the photos shared represent only a portion of the many women who contribute to keeping the community safe each day
