The US has put the Pakistan-backed The Resistance Front (TRF) on the list of Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT). US Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a statement on Friday and gave this information.
Marco Rubio wrote in the statement, ‘TRF, a front and proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), claimed responsibility for the April 22, 2025 attack in Pahalgam, India, which killed 26 civilians. This was Lashkar’s deadliest attack on civilians in India since the 2008 Mumbai attacks.’
‘TRF has also claimed responsibility for several attacks on Indian security forces, including the 2024 attack. This decision by the US government is President Trump’s call for justice for the Pahalgam attack. “This action demonstrates the Trump Administration’s commitment to protecting our national security interests and fighting terrorism.”
TRF is a terrorist organization that is mainly active in Jammu and Kashmir. It often recruits people who look like ordinary citizens but are secretly involved in terrorist activities. These are called hybrid terrorists.
