INTERNATIONALCeasefire between Israel and Syria, US ambassador announced

After Israel attacked Syria, tensions once again arose in the Middle East. However, now Israel and Syria have agreed to a ceasefire. This is the claim of the American ambassador. On Friday, he urged Syrian fighters not to lay down their arms. According to US Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Syria’s new leader Ahmed al-Shara have agreed on a ceasefire. Neighbouring countries Jordan and Turkey have also supported this ceasefire.

Giving information about the ceasefire, Tom Barrack wrote on X, We want to tell the Druze, Bedouin and Sunnis to lay down their arms. Together with other minorities, let us build a new Syria, which will move towards peace and prosperity along with the neighbors. Israel attacked the Syrian capital Damascus on Wednesday. During this Israel also dropped bombs on the Syrian army headquarters. The Israeli air strike caused massive destruction in Syria.

Explaining the reason behind the attack, Israel said that it was helping the Druze community, who are currently in minority and are facing tension with the Bedouin community living in southern Syria.
