The Karnataka government has taken major action regarding the Bengaluru stampede. The government has suspended the Police Commissioner, ACP and many senior officers. At the same time, it was decided to form an inquiry committee regarding this incident.
A welcome ceremony was organized at the Chinnaswamy Stadium after Royal Challengers Bangalore won the IPL trophy. A huge crowd of fans had gathered outside the stadium to enter it. After this, there was a stampede outside the stadium.
In this, 11 people died and 70 others were injured. After this incident, Bangalore Police has filed an FIR. In this, along with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has also been made accused. The Karnataka government has suspended a total of eight police officers.
After the Karnataka High Court took suo motu cognizance of the Bengaluru stampede on Thursday, late in the evening, CM Siddaramaiah announced to hand over the investigation to the CID. Along with this, the CM also announced the formation of a one-member commission to investigate the causes of the deadly stampede that claimed the lives of 11 people.
