Fahadh Faasil was not the first choice for Bhanwar Singh in Pushpa 2

ENTERTAINMENTFahadh Faasil was not the first choice for Bhanwar Singh in Pushpa 2

The film Pushpa, released last year, is one of the most successful franchises in India. The first part of the film was named Pushpa: The Rise and the second part was named Pushpa: The Rule. This Allu Arjun starrer film broke all records at the box office.

The credit for the success of this action film goes to the charismatic screen presence of Allu Arjun, but amidst all this, you cannot forget Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat i.e. Fahadh Faasil, who was seen in the role of the villain. But did you know that Fahadh Faasil was not the first choice to play the police officer?

Nara Rohit was initially supposed to play the role of Bhanwar Singh in the film. He himself gave this information in an interview. In an interview to M9 News, Rohit recalled discussing this important role with Pushpa director Sukumar and said

“I had posted a few pictures with a moustache during the Covid-19 pandemic. Ravi (Shankar) garu was the first one to approach me and so was Sukumar garu. Then the duration of the film changed and they felt Fahadh was the right fit for the role. But they had approached me first.

Nara Rohit said that he definitely wanted to play the role of Shekhawat in Pushpa, but he is not sure if he would have been able to play the role like Fahadh Faasil did. The actor said, “I don’t know if I would have been able to play the role the way he did. Probably, if I was on that set, I could have pulled it off. But after seeing Fahadh, I thought, okay. It was really great.”
