America has also jumped into the Israel-Iran military conflict (US Attacks on Iran). US President Donald Trump said that his Air Force attacked three nuclear bases of Iran. The US Air Force targeted Fordow Nuclear Plant, Natanz Nuclear Plant and Isfahan Nuclear Plant. After heavily bombing these three sites, the US Air Force returned safely to America.
Fordow Nuclear Plant
Iran had turned the Fordo plant into an impenetrable fortress. Destroying this plant was like shaking a mountain, which America has done. Actually, Iran has built this plant under a mountain and at a depth of about 300 feet in the ground. The special thing was that this plant was specially designed to avoid air attacks. It is believed that Iran started building this nuclear plant in the year 2006. The purpose of this nuclear plant was to develop nuclear weapons. Iran kept this plant hidden from the world for years.
However, in 2009, this plant was discovered by Western intelligence agencies. Iran feared that the US or Israel could target this place. Therefore, Iran has installed the Russian S-300 air defense system near the plant.
Natanz Nuclear Plant
Now let’s talk about the Natanz nuclear plant, where Iran was enriching uranium. Let us tell you that nuclear bombs are made only after enriching uranium. Natanz has thousands of advanced centrifuges, some of which can enrich nuclei by up to 60 percent. According to the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI), Natanz consists of six above-ground buildings and three underground structures, two of which could house 50,000 centrifuges.
Isfahan Nuclear Plant
The work of making nuclear weapons was going on rapidly in Isfahan Nuclear Plant. Yellowcake was being converted into uranium hexafluoride at this plant. Reactor fuel was being manufactured at this plant. Uranium metal was being made for nuclear weapons. At the same time, hundreds of nuclear scientists were working in Isfahan City, located about 350 kilometers (215 miles) southeast of Iran’s capital Tehran. This place also houses three Chinese research reactors and labs related to the nuclear program.
