India is getting closer to the Taliban government, planning to reach the doorstep of Pakistan?

NATIONALIndia is getting closer to the Taliban government, planning to reach the doorstep of Pakistan?

Whatever concerns India had about the Taliban government in Afghanistan have almost ended. Especially after the way the Taliban government took care of India’s interests during Operation Sindoor, India has decided that it will normalize its bilateral relations with this distant neighboring country.

This is evident from External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s conversation with Afghanistan’s acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, nearly four and a half years after the Taliban came to power in Kabul. Now India is working on a plan to provide the biggest help to Afghanistan for economic and social development. Along with this, after discussions with the Taliban government, India is also considering restarting work on around 500 small and big projects that have been suspended there.

This improvement in India’s relations with the Taliban government has come at a time when there are signs of America showing new interest in Afghanistan and the Taliban’s relations with Pakistan are continuously deteriorating. According to sources, the talks between the Afghan Foreign Minister and External Affairs Minister Jaishankar have resolved India’s two biggest concerns regarding the Taliban.

When the Taliban took power, around 500 small and big projects were underway in 34 provinces of Afghanistan with the help of India. Some of these projects may have been completed. These projects, with an investment of three billion dollars, are related to providing electricity to rural and remote parts of Afghanistan, building better roads or establishing telephone networks.
