Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi has said that if the US wants to resume talks with Iran, it will have to be assured that it (the US) will not launch any further attacks. Majid Takht-Ravanchi said, “The Trump administration told Iran through mediators that it wants to resume talks this week. But the US has not clarified its position on the very important question related to further attacks.”
Talks were going on between Iran and the US regarding Iran’s nuclear program. But then Israel attacked Iran’s nuclear sites and military infrastructure earlier this month. Iran also retaliated with missiles. America directly joined this conflict on June 21 and dropped bombs on three nuclear sites of Iran. Takht-Ravanchi also said that Iran would focus on enriching uranium for peaceful purposes. He rejected allegations that Iran was secretly moving towards developing a nuclear bomb.
He said that Iran was not able to get ‘nuclear material’ for its research program, so they (Iran) were dependent on themselves for it. The Deputy Foreign Minister said, “Its (nuclear program) level can be discussed. The capability can be discussed. But to say that you should not enrich. You should not enrich at all. If you don’t agree to this, we will drop bombs on you. This is the law of the jungle.”
