Today is a historic day for Jammu and Kashmir. The dream of many years has come true today. Vande Bharat ran from Katra to Srinagar. Now passengers will be able to travel by train from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. But people must be worried about safety while travelling in Vande Bharat.
But you don’t need to worry about this. Vande Bharat has been secured like an impenetrable fortress. Railway Protection Force (RPF) commandos CORAS have been deployed to provide security to Vande Bharat trains on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla railway line.
Commandos were present on the train during the inauguration. Officials said that to ensure safety of train travel, 15 commandos and one observer will be present in every Vande Bharat train. These units will be deployed in Budgam area of Kashmir Valley and Kathua in Reasi district.
This is the first time CORAS has been deployed in Jammu and Kashmir after focusing on high-risk security operations, especially in areas prone to Naxal insurgency. After the inauguration, passengers will now be able to enjoy the journey in Vande Bharat train from June 7.
Railway officials said the trains will run six days a week, while Tuesday will be reserved for maintenance. They said initially the trains will run between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar
