Moeen-Ali’s parents were in PoK during Operation Sindoor: India fired missiles here

SPORTS & BUSINESSMoeen-Ali's parents were in PoK during Operation Sindoor: India fired missiles here

Former England cricketer Moeen Ali revealed that his parents were in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) during the Indian Army’s ‘Operation Sindoor’. The Indian Army had fired missiles on terrorist hideouts in these areas.

Speaking on the ‘Beard Before Wicket’ podcast, Moeen said that soon after the attacks he had decided to quit the IPL. He did not even come to India to play the second phase matches for his team KKR. Former England cricketer Moeen Ali said that his parents were just 1 hour away from the area of PoK where the missile attacks took place. Fearing the attacks, his family left PoK on the next flight.

I was glad they somehow got out of there, but it was dangerous to watch all this. India attacked terrorist camps in Pakistan and PoK late on the night of May 7 to avenge the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. The Army named it ‘Operation Sindoor’. During this time, Moeen Ali was playing IPL in India with his wife and children.

Moeen said, ‘After India’s attack, Pakistan also attacked. We felt as if we were stuck in the middle of a war, but we did not hear any sound of explosions. We wanted to leave the country with our families as soon as possible. I was also very worried for my family.’
