The final match of the third edition of the ICC World Test Championship is to be played between Australia and South Africa at Lord’s ground in England. Before this match, defending champion Australia’s captain Pat Cummins has expressed his displeasure over the hosting and has also made a complaining appeal to the ICC. So far, England has hosted the final of the World Test Championship. Cummins believes that this final should now be taken out of England.
The captain, who led Australia to the title last season, said that the defending champion should be given the responsibility of hosting the final. Recently there were some reports that the BCCI is considering hosting the final of the Test Championship and the next final may be played in India.
Cummins is also in favour of holding the final outside England, but he has said this in a very defensive manner. He has also said that Lord’s ground is also a good option.
Cummins said, “Looking at the system, it seems easier to have a single venue. It would be good if the winning country of the previous edition hosts the next final. But as an option, it is also good to choose Lord’s for the final every time.”
