Seattle police are investigating a suspected homicide that occurred this afternoon in the Georgetown neighborhood.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., patrol officers responded to a report of a body found in a tent encampment on the 1000 block of South Bailey Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with apparent fatal injuries. The Seattle Fire Department pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The area was secured until detectives from the Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation Units could process the scene. The King County Medical Examiner will take custody of the deceased and determine the official cause and manner of death.
Authorities have not released any suspect information and no arrests have been made. The circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation.
