In Mathura, on Sunday afternoon around 12 o’clock, a mound of soil collapsed on the kutcha road near Govind Nagar Shahganj gate. Due to this, seven houses built on it collapsed. Three people including two sisters aged three and six years died after being buried under the debris. It is feared that many people are still buried under the debris.
The administration is busy with relief work. A wall was being constructed around the mound for several days so that the soil does not collapse during the rains. But suddenly the mound collapsed. Due to the collapse of the soil of the mound near Shahganj Gate in Govind Nagar area, parts of many houses built on it collapsed. Due to this, many workers working there got buried under the debris.The police team reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations to take out the buried people. DM Chandra Prakash Singh and SSP Shlok Kumar are present at the spot.
Six JCBs have been deployed to remove the debris, while half a dozen employees have also been deployed. SAP Shlok Kumar said that SDRF and NDRF teams are also reaching the spot. Due to the large amount of debris, there is difficulty in removing it. After a lot of effort, the woman and a child were pulled out from the rubble. They were sent to the hospital. 6-year-old Yashoda and her three-year-old sister Kavya also died.
