During the ongoing tension between Israel and Iran, Israel carried out air strikes and killed top commanders including Iran’s Army Chief. Now Iran’s Commander-in-Chief Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei has announced key appointments to reorganize the country’s military leadership.
According to Iranian state media IRNA, Major General Amir Hatami has been appointed the Commander in Chief of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Hatami has also previously served as Iran’s Defense Minister from 2013 to 2021. In his official order, Khamenei praised Hatami’s dedication, competence and experience and called for a transformative and revolutionary vision under his leadership, IRNA reported.
