Situation worsens in Los Angeles, 700 Marine soldiers will be deployed to deal with protesters

INTERNATIONALSituation worsens in Los Angeles, 700 Marine soldiers will be deployed to deal with protesters

People are protesting against the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in California. The Trump administration deployed the National Guard in Los Angeles to deal with the protesters. However, this decision of Trump is being criticized a lot. At the same time, Trump said on Monday that he had made a ‘very good decision’ by deploying the National Guard in California.

He said in a post on Truth Social, if we had not done this, Los Angeles would have been completely destroyed. Trump also indicated that he would support the arrest of the California governor. Meanwhile, the Trump administration has announced that the US Army will temporarily deploy about 700 Marines in Los Angeles until more National Guard troops arrive there. A US official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said a battalion would be sent on temporary duty until more National Guard troops could reach the scene.

The protesters have been protesting for the last four days. The Democrats Party is also supporting this protest against the policies of deporting illegal immigrants living in the country. Meanwhile, California officials will challenge in court Trump’s decision to take control of the state’s National Guard and deploy it on the streets of Los Angeles. “This is exactly what Trump wanted. He fueled the fire and illegally federalized the National Guard. We are going to sue him,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom posted on X on Monday.
