The truth of the 180 crore fund came out, not India… America had given the money to this country

USAThe truth of the 180 crore fund came out, not India… America had given the money to this country

When US President Donald Trump started his second term, the issue of giving a fund of $21 million (Rs 1,80,99,45,900) to India from America was raised. It was said that the Joe Biden government of America was giving this much fund to India to increase the number of voters in India, but the Trump government is cancelling this fund. Now the real truth of this fund has come to light.

The House Committee on Foreign Affairs in the US has clarified that the US had given the $21 million fund not to India but for political participation in Bangladesh. House Committee Chairman Gregory Meeks said that $21 million of United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funds were not used for the Indian elections. This money was given to Bangladesh, funds were never earmarked for India.

The claim to provide funds to India was made in February 2025 by the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). DOGE had written in a post on the X handle that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) had allocated $21 million to increase voter turnout in India, but DOGE had also said that this funding has been canceled.

President Donald Trump called this claim a kickback scheme and raised the question that if India is an economically strong country, then why was so much funding being given to India?
