The sanyukt Kisan Morcha held an all-party meeting on Friday and declared that the Punjab government should cancel the land pooling policy or else a similar protest would be organized against the Punjab government, as was held in Delhi against the three agricultural laws.
SKM members categorically said that the government will be forced to withdraw the policy. No representative of Aam Aadmi Party participated in this meeting held at Kisan Bhavan, while 10 political parties of the state including BJP, Congress extended their support to the United Kisan Morcha.
Farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal said that an invitation to attend the meeting was given to cabinet minister and party state president Aman Arora. He had assured that he would attend the meeting. Despite this, no representative of the government came to the meeting.
The important thing is that in 2020, farmers had targeted the BJP against the three agricultural laws. BJP representatives Dr. Subhash Sharma and Kewal Dhillon also attended the meeting held on Friday, while former ministers Randeep Nabha and Happy Kheda from the Congress reached the meeting late. Subhash Sharma said that BJP is against the land pooling policy. The party is running a campaign to contact the farmers.
At the same time, Kewal Dhillon also said that the BJP stands like a rock with the farmers. Farmer leader Dr. Darshan Pal announced that the United Kisan Morcha will take out a tractor march on July 30 wherever the Punjab government is acquiring land.
