Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza has accused a local coach of racial abuse. The incident took place on June 1 during a Vigne Cup match. He was playing for his team Old Hararians against Rainbow Cricket Club. He has lodged a complaint about this to the Harare Metropolitan Cricket Association.
According to cricket website ESPN Cricinfo, Raza has alleged that the coach made derogatory remarks against him while he was leaving the ground during a match between Old Hararians and Rainbow Cricket Club played at Old Hararians Club. Raza said, “I demand a thorough investigation into this incident. If the coach is found guilty, he should be taught a lesson so that such an incident does not happen to anyone in the future.”
During the match, Raza scored 78 runs from 56 balls as his team made 402 for 9 in 50 overs. In reply, Rainbow Cricket Club made 225 for 8 in 39 overs and lost the match by 142 runs via DLS method. Raza played an important role in helping Lahore Qalandars win the PSL title. He scored the winning runs against Quetta Gladiators in the final played in Lahore. He scored an unbeaten 22 runs off 7 balls. He also took a wicket.
This was Raza’s second T20 franchise trophy in 2025. Earlier, he had also won the ILT20. England defeated West Indies by 4 wickets in the second T20 match played in Bristol. With this, England has taken a 2-0 lead in the three-match T20 series and has also captured the series. West Indies, batting first, scored 196 runs for 6 wickets.
