‘This is no joke’, Sourav Ganguly talks about breaking India-Pakistan cricket ties

SPORTS & BUSINESS'This is no joke', Sourav Ganguly talks about breaking India-Pakistan cricket ties

Former Indian cricket captain and ex-BCCI president Sourav Ganguly on Friday called for a complete severance of cricketing ties with Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 people.

Sourav Ganguly also cited the urgent need for strong action in response to the recurring terrorist attacks. Speaking to reporters in Kolkata, Sourav Ganguly said plainly, “100 percent, this should be done. Strict action is necessary. It is no joke that such things happen every year. Terrorism cannot be tolerated.”

Let us tell you that in the last few years, India and Pakistan have been clashing only in ICC competitions, like T-20 and 50-over World Cups, ICC Champions Trophy and Asia Cup competitions organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

It is worth noting that despite being cricket’s biggest rivalry, India and Pakistan have not faced each other in any bilateral series since 2012-13. India has not toured Pakistan since 2008 due to tense political relations between the two countries.
