Jagmeet Singh, the head of the New Democratic Party (NDP) in Canada, has suffered a crushing defeat in the general elections. After this, he resigned from his post. Jagmeet Singh was hoping for his third victory, but lost from the Burnaby Central seat in British Columbia.
He was pitted against liberal candidate Wade Chang. While Singh got about 27 percent of the votes, Chang got more than 40 percent of the votes.
Jagmeet Singh’s party has seen a major decline and is going to lose its national status, for which parties have to win at least 12 seats. The NDP did not succeed in this. The NDP has won only 7 seats. In the trends, the Liberal Party is leading on 165 seats while Khalistani leader Jagmeet Singh has lost the election.
