The government is keeping a close watch on the Char Dham Yatra which is going to start from Wednesday with the opening of the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. In this connection, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan held a meeting with the District Magistrates through video conferencing at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
Examined the preparations for the Char Dham Yatra. Also instructed that the safety and convenience of the pilgrims coming to Uttarakhand should be given top priority. It is our responsibility to ensure safe and comfortable journey and safe return of pilgrims. He also wished the District Magistrate of Uttarkashi for his visit to Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham.
The Chief Secretary stressed the need to give priority to vehicles supplying essential commodities including vegetables, ration, gas on the Chardham Yatra routes. He also asked to keep a watch on overrating on the Yatra routes and increase the mechanism for this.
