NATIONALPakistan in the shadow of fear! Army in hotels and guest houses in PoK

After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, tensions between India and Pakistan have increased a lot. Meanwhile, there is panic in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) as well and the Prime Minister there, Chaudhary Anwar-ul-Haq, has indicated that if the situation worsens, then emergency can be imposed in the region.

In view of the security situation amid apprehension of possible military action by India, entry of tourists has been banned in Neelam Valley and sensitive areas near the Line of Control (LOC). Along with this, orders have also been given to close religious madrassas for 10 days.

The Prime Minister of PoK has claimed that full preparations have been made to ensure the supply of food, medicines and other essential items in case of aggression by India. One billion rupees have been transferred to the emergency fund and operators of hotels, guesthouses and wedding halls have offered their properties to the army.

Authorities have decided to close down madrassas located in sensitive areas around Neelam Valley and LoC for 10 days. There is a fear that India may target these institutions by terming them as terrorist training centres.

Law Minister Mian Abdul Wahid said, “We are dealing with a cunning, ruthless and conspiratorial enemy whose nefarious actions cannot be ruled out.” Karachi and Lahore airspaces have been declared closed for 8 hours (8am to 4pm) every day for the entire month. Flights in Gilgit-Baltistan are also being affected.

The Prime Minister of PoK said in the assembly that we are ready to deal with every situation. He also said that firing is being done by the Indian Army, which has also caused damage.
