South cinema’s famous actor Vijay Deverakonda is in controversy these days due to one of his comments. He made this comment during the audio launch event of the film ‘Retro’ held recently in Hyderabad.
In the program, while condemning the terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Kashmir, he said something which led to protests on social media. Even people belonging to the Scheduled Tribes filed a complaint against him.
After this controversy, Vijay Deverakonda shared a long post on social media and gave clarification and apologized wholeheartedly. He clarified that he had no intention of hurting the sentiments of any community.
In his post, Vijay Deverakonda wrote, “I just came to know that a statement I made during the Retro Audio launch has caused concern and anger amongst some people. I want to say from my heart that I had no intention to hurt any community, especially the Scheduled Tribes. I respect them and consider them an integral part of India’s rich culture.”
