South Africa fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has revealed that he is facing a temporary ban for failing a doping test. He had consumed ICC banned drugs during the South Africa T20 League (SA20) in January this year.
He had to leave IPL and return to South Africa on 3 April after his dope test came out positive. Rabada, who is currently in India for the IPL, issued a statement to Cricket South Africa. However, when he returned to the country, his IPL team Gujarat Titans said that he had gone to South Africa for family reasons.
Rabada said, ‘I had to return to South Africa after testing positive in the dope test. I apologize to the fans and my team. I never want to take cricket lightly. Playing cricket for South Africa is the biggest achievement of my life, I am ashamed of my mistake. I am currently facing a temporary ban, but will soon return to the cricket field.
