POLITICS & LAWSPakistan knocked on the door of the United Nations, UNSC will hold an emergency meeting today

After the Pahalgam attack, the eyes of the whole world are fixed on India and Pakistan. Due to fear of India, Pakistan had knocked the door of the United Nations. Pakistan had appealed for an emergency meeting in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), which was accepted. Today there will be a meeting in the UNSC on the issue of India and Pakistan.

Pakistan is also included in the 10 non-permanent members of the UNSC. In such a situation, Pakistan had recommended calling this meeting regarding the increasing tension between the two countries. The Greek Presidency has scheduled it for today i.e. 5 May afternoon. This meeting between the two countries will be held in a closed room.

Let us tell you that in the United Nations, apart from the five permanent members – Russia, America, China, France and UK, there are 10 non-permanent members. The tenure of non-permanent members is only 2 years. Currently, Algeria, Denmark, Greece, Guyana, Pakistan, Panama, South Korea, Syria Leone, Slovenia and Somalia are included among the non-permanent members of the United Nations.
