A high-level meeting has begun in the Home Ministry regarding the Civil Defence Mock Drill. Several high-ranking officers including the Chief Secretaries of the states and the Civil Defence Chief have participated in the meeting chaired by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan.
The central government has asked to conduct mock drills in 244 districts of the country on May 7. In this, citizens will be trained to protect themselves during an attack. Air raid warning sirens will be sounded.
Amid fears of war with Pakistan, India will receive the warship Tamal from Russia this month. Russia will hand it over to the Indian Navy on May 28. According to media reports, it will be officially inducted into the Navy in June.
This warship will be equipped with Brahmos missile, which will not even come under the radar. Pakistan has violated the ceasefire for the 12th consecutive day. On the night of 5-6 May, the Pakistani army fired at eight places along the LoC in Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar, Nowshera, Sunderbani and Akhnoor areas.
