US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke to Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir on Friday and urged both Pakistan and India to find ways to reduce tensions. A US State Department spokesperson said Rubio also offered US assistance in initiating constructive dialogue to avoid future conflicts.
Pakistan said it launched a military operation against India in the early hours of Saturday, targeting multiple locations including a missile storage site in northern India, as the worst fighting between the neighbours in three decades continued.
