A heated debate has broken out between Bollywood actor Harshvardhan Rane and his Sanam Teri Kasam co-actress Mawra Hocane. Amidst the Indo-Pak tension, Harshvardhan refused to work with Mawra in Sanam Teri Kasam 2, which Mawra termed as a PR stunt. This controversy made a lot of headlines on social media. Harshvardhan announced on Instagram on 10 May 2025 that he would not be a part of Sanam Teri Kasam 2 if Mawra remained involved. He objected to Mawra’s comments against India, especially calling Operation Sindoor “cowardly”. Harshvardhan wrote, “I respect all artistes but will not tolerate derogatory comments against my country.”
He also said that he would prioritise the pride of his country despite losing fans. The statement came in the context of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and subsequent Indian retaliatory strikes that killed 26 people.
