Bangladesh’s famous actress Nusrat Faria has been arrested from the international airport. Nusrat became famous by playing the role of Sheikh Hasina in the biopic ‘Mujib the Making of a Nation’. Nusrat, 31, was arrested at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport when she was about to board a flight to Thailand.
Actually, his name has come up in a case related to attempted murder. This case was registered against him during the public movement against Hasina in July last year. Faria’s lawyer has approached the court for bail and the court will hear the bail plea on May 22.
This case is related to the protests that took place last year, which led to the removal of the Sheikh Hasina-led government and the establishment of an interim government in Bangladesh. A case of murder of a student has come to light in the name of the actress.
Faria is famous for playing the role of former Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina in the film ‘Mujib The Making of a Nation’ on Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a biopic directed by veteran filmmaker Shyam Benegal. The film was jointly produced by Bangladesh and India and starred Arifin Shuvo in the lead role.
