On Wednesday, the flight from Delhi to Srinagar faced turbulence due to bad weather. During its journey, this Indigo plane got stuck in a severe storm and hailstorm. There were 227 passengers on board the plane.

Due to bad weather, the pilot of this plane asked Lahore ATC for permission to use Pakistani airspace. Which was rejected by Pakistan. Later the plane somehow landed in Srinagar. Now the statement of the Indian Air Force has come out on this whole matter.

The Indian Air Force has confirmed that Lahore ATC refused to allow IndiGo flight 6E 214 to use Pakistan airspace. NOTAM A0220/25 issued by Pakistani civil aviation authorities was in circulation till midnight (2359 hrs) of 23 May 25, news agency ANI reported quoting sources. Which mentioned that Pakistan airspace is not available for Indian registered aircraft and Indian aircraft, including military flights.

On Thursday, the airline company issued a statement regarding this incident. The airline company said in its statement that its flight 6E 2142 flying from Delhi to Srinagar on May 21, 2025, avoided sudden hailstorm and landed safely at Srinagar International Airport.
