INTERNATIONALIs Pakistan buying destructive weapons? US intelligence department's report reveals

A US intelligence report has made several claims about the defence policies of India, China and Pakistan. The report ‘2025 World Threat Assessment’ sheds light on China’s greedy expansionist policy and Pakistan’s military ambitions.

The United States Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has said in its report that Pakistan considers India a threat to its existence and is pushing hard to expand its nuclear capacity. China and Turkey are supporting it in this.

In its ‘Annual Threat Assessment 2025’, the US DIA revealed that Pakistan is acquiring weapons of mass destruction (WMD)-related items from foreign collaborators. The report said that Pakistan’s continued pursuit of nuclear weapons or weapons of mass destruction could endanger regional stability.

The DIA report said that foreign materials and technology supporting Pakistan’s WMD programs are likely acquired from China and sometimes sent through Hong Kong, Singapore, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.
