Heavy storm and heavy rain in Pakistan’s Punjab province on Saturday evening took the lives of 20 people. About 150 people were also injured in this. The intensity of the storm can be gauged from the fact that road and air traffic came to a complete standstill.

The storm not only damaged infrastructure, but also cut off power in many areas. Officials said most of the deaths were caused by dilapidated houses collapsing or being buried under fallen billboards. Children were also among those killed.

The effect of strong winds and hail was also seen in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Crops and power lines were damaged considerably. However, no deaths were reported from here. Due to the storm accompanied by heavy rains, water accumulated in many low-lying areas and trees fell in many places. A private airline’s plane FL-842 flying from Karachi to Lahore faced terrible turbulence. Many videos of this are going viral on social media.

According to the Disaster Management Authority of Punjab, 3 people each have died in Lahore and Jhelum. Apart from this, 2 people died in Sialkot and 2 in Muzaffargarh. At the same time, one death each occurred in Sheikhpura, Nankana Sahib, Attock, Multan, Rajanpur, Hafizabad, Mianwali, Jhang Gujranwala and Layyah.
