India has achieved a major diplomatic victory at the global level and after objections by Shashi Tharoor, who was part of the Indian delegation, Colombia has officially withdrawn its statement in which it had expressed condolences over the deaths in Pakistan following the Indian attacks.
Earlier, the Colombian government had expressed disappointment over the people killed during Operation Sindoor, carried out by India on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and PoK. On this, Shashi Tharoor went to Colombia and expressed concern and expressed disappointment over the reaction of the Colombian government.
After meeting the Indian delegation, Colombia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio said, “We are confident that the clarification we have received today clearly explains the real situation, the conflict and what has happened in Kashmir. Based on the information we now have about him, we can continue the conversation.”
Commenting on the recent response of the Colombian government, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that the Deputy Foreign Minister very politely mentioned that they have withdrawn the statement over which we had expressed concern and that they fully understand our position, this is very valuable for us.
