‘Why was Operation Sindoor named so?’, question asked in America

INTERNATIONAL'Why was Operation Sindoor named so?', question asked in America

After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, India carried out Operation Sindoor and destroyed terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and PoK and more than 100 terrorists were eliminated. After Bharti’s action, Indian delegations are travelling to different countries to expose Pakistan and tell about Operation Sindoor. Meanwhile, the delegation led by Shashi Tharoor reached America, where he was questioned about naming the operation ‘Operation Sindoor’.

Congr ess MP Shashi Tharoor said in the US that Operation Sindoor is a brilliantly chosen name. During a dialogue session at the National Press Club in the US, Tharoor said that the colour of vermilion is not very different from the colour of blood. While making his point, Shashi Tharoor used the Hindi phrase ‘khoon ka badla khoon’ and said that it was ‘sindoor ka badla khoon’. This means blood in response to the treatment meted out to sindoor by terrorists.

During the dialogue session, Tharoor was asked about naming Operation Sindoor. In response to this, he said that Operation Sindoor is a brilliantly chosen name. “If some Americans don’t know about it, it’s a symbol that is worn on the forehead of married women in the Hindu tradition,” he explained to the Americans.

He said, “Sindoor is applied during the marriage ceremony and then every day thereafter married women apply it. The terrorists had wiped off the sindoor of married women in Pahalgam by killing their husbands, so it is like ‘Operation Sindoor Ka Badla Khoon’.”
