On June 4, 11 people were killed in a stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium during celebrations following RCB’s Indian Premier League (IPL) win on June 3. After this incident, the Karnataka government took many strict decisions.
Now Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah has given a statement on the stampede case and said that we did not organize the function, but we were invited by the Karnataka Cricket Board. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is facing criticism over the stampede in Bengaluru last week, said that he was attending the event only because he was invited and was told that the Governor would also attend the event.
He said, “The KSCA secretary and treasurer came and invited me. We did not organise the function, KSCA did.” He said, “They also told me that the Governor is also coming, I only went there. I don’t know anything else and I went only when I was invited. They didn’t invite me to the stadium.
