The tension between Israel and Iran (Israel Iran conflict) has now turned into a military conflict. Israel carried out drone attacks on Iran late Thursday night. Israel named this action ‘Operation Rising Lion’. Israel targeted Iran’s nuclear sites. Israel’s aim was to destroy the nuclear plant in Iran. IDF carried out its mission with full preparation. The Israeli army bombed the nuclear sites in Shiraz, Tabriz and Natanz. 6 Iranian nuclear scientists also died in these attacks.
Israel claimed that Iran’s main nuclear site Natanz has suffered heavy damage. Natanz is the place where Iran was enriching uranium. Atomic bombs are made only after enriching uranium. Iran has also admitted that its Fordow enrichment site (FFEP) has been damaged in the Israeli attack. Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman for Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency, said, “The Fordow enrichment site has suffered minor damage.
However, we had already removed a significant portion of the equipment and materials, and there was no extensive damage and no contamination concerns.”
Iran is working to expand and develop uranium capacity at the Fordow enrichment site. The 2015 nuclear deal did not allow enrichment at Fordow. But the US, Britain and France revealed in 2009 that Iran had about 2,000 high-tech IR-6 centrifuges operating at the site.
