India’s Smriti Mandhana has reached the top spot in ICC’s Women’s ODI Batsmen Rankings. She surpassed South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt and England’s Natalie Siver Brunt to reach number 1. Mandhana became the number-1 batter after 5 years, she last reached the top in 2019 after the end of the series against England.Off-spinner Deepti Sharma remains at number four in the ODI rankings for bowlers. She is at number two in the T20 rankings. Deepti is also in the top-4 in the all-rounder rankings of both formats.
The ICC updated the Women’s Player Rankings on Tuesday. Mandhana jumped 1 place to reach the top with 727 points. Siver-Brunt also moved up 1 place, she and Wolvaardt remain at number two with 719 points. No other player from India found a place in the top-10 batters rankings. Jemima Rodriguez is at number 15 and Harmanpreet Kaur is at number 16.
In the T20 Batters rankings, except Mandhana, no Indian batsman is included in the top-10. Mandhana is at number four. Australia’s Beth Mooney, West Indies’ Hayley Matthews and Australia’s Tahlia McGrath are in the top-3 positions. Deepti Sharma is at number four in the top-10 ODI bowlers. England’s Sophie Ecclestone, Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner and Megan Shut are in the top-3 positions. The next top player from India in this ranking is Renuka Singh, who remains at number 24.
