US President Donald Trump invited Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir for a lunch meeting on Wednesday. This meeting took place at the White House. Trump praised Asim Munir for preventing the conflict between India and Pakistan from escalating. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has commented on this meeting. Tharoor said that America should not forget Osama bin Laden, the chief of Al Qaeda, who was responsible for the attack on the World Trade Center in 2001.
When America searched for Osama Bin Laden, he was living nowhere else but in Pakistan. Shashi Tharoor said, “Some senators and MPs met the Pakistani delegation. But the people of America cannot forget Osama bin Laden so soon. This person was given shelter by Pakistan. America should not forget this mistake of Pakistan. At the same time, terrorists nurtured by Pakistan are continuously carrying out terrorist attacks in India.”
He further said, “I hope President Trump would have asked Asim Munir questions about Pakistan-sponsored terrorists at the dining table. Let us tell you that India has clearly said that Pakistan Army has an important role behind the Pahalgam terror attack.
