A dangerous virus has entered Pakistan and three people have died due to this virus. Among those who died, two are from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and one is from Karachi. According to the report, a 25-year-old fisherman from Ibrahim Hyderi in Sindh has died due to Congo virus and deaths due to Congo virus have been reported in Karak in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and North Waziristan.
Health officials said Muhammad Zubair, a resident of Malir district, first experienced symptoms of high fever, muscle pain, stomach pain, cough, diarrhoea, bleeding and unconsciousness on June 16. When the patient was admitted to Jinnah Hospital, doctors suspected that he had been infected with the Congo virus. However, the patient was referred from Jinnah Hospital to Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital and died on June 19.
The Sindh health department said people who came in contact with the deceased in the affected area are being identified and monitored. Three more patients infected with the Congo virus are being treated in the isolation ward of the hospital. When the patient was admitted to Jinnah Hospital, doctors suspected that he had been infected with the Congo virus. However, the patient was referred from Jinnah Hospital to Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital and died on June 19.
