4 June 2025, when a stampede broke out outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru during the celebrations of RCB winning the IPL trophy for the first time and 11 innocent people lost their lives. What happened on this day was like a bad stain on the cricket world. The capacity of the stadium was 35 thousand people, while about 3 lakh people had gathered outside. In such a situation, the crowd became uncontrollable regarding entry, the police dispersed them by doing mild lathi charge, but 11 people lost their lives in this stampede.

Now, in view of the incident that happened during RCB’s victory celebration, BCCI is going to take strict action so that such negligence does not happen in future. Actually, on 3 June 2025, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won the IPL title for the first time. After becoming the IPL champion for the first time after 17 years, RCB took out a victory parade in Bengaluru (Bengaluru Stampede), In which the stampede took the lives of 11 people. Now BCCI has prepared strict guidelines (IPL Celebration Guidelines) regarding this stampede:-

  • No team will be allowed to celebrate within 3-4 days of winning the title.
  • Quick turnarounds will not be allowed to avoid hasty and poorly managed events.
  • Teams will have to seek formal permission from the BCCI before any victory celebrations.
  • No event can be organised without the prior written permission of the board.
  • Mandatory 4 to 5 level security protocol
  • Security personnel will be required at all locations.
  • The team will be under strict security from the airport to the event venue.
  • Ensuring complete security for players and staff during the entire event programme.
    Permission has to be taken from District Police, State Government and local authorities
