Indian-origin rapper Genesis Yasmin Mohanraj, who is known by the stage name Tommy Genesis, seems to be in trouble at the moment. The singer is facing a lot of criticism. Yasmin is going viral online for all the wrong reasons after she posted a teaser of her latest music video True Blue. In the video, she can be seen dressed as a Hindu goddess who could reportedly be a form of Goddess Kali.
Along with this, she is holding a cross in her hand which she is using in a very wrong manner. People of both the communities did not like this. Mohanraj, who holds Canadian citizenship, can be seen dressed like a Hindu goddess in blue paint and heavy gold jewellery. She is also wearing a red bindi. She is seen licking the cross she is holding in her hand and even posing with it behind her. People of both communities have called it blasphemy i.e. an insult to God.
People believe that Yasmin is resorting to cheap tactics to become famous. She has been accused of deliberately provoking religious communities. A user commented on X- Her Indian ancestry makes it very likely that her makeup is intentionally done to hurt Hindu sentiments. Blasphemy. One wrote- Didn’t you see the cross coming out of her butt? She is hurting everyone’s feelings, probably intentionally, to go viral. Cheap tactics. Many people online said it was extremely offensive and intended to incite outrage to gain attention.

She is of Tamil and Swedish descent. Her music usually involves themes of gender and sexuality. Known for her bold style, the singer often comes up with provocative songs.
