Famous actor Srikanth, also known as Sriram, who has proved his acting prowess in Tamil and Telugu cinema, has come into the news for the wrong reasons. His name has surfaced in the drugs case due to which the actor is in judicial custody till July 7. Many cases of drug cases have come to light in the South film industry in the recent past. Many famous actors associated with Malayalam cinema have been called for questioning in the drug case and now Tamil-Telugu actor Srikanth has also got badly trapped in this case.
On 23 June 2025, Srikanth was detained by the Chennai Police for questioning in a drug-related case. He was taken to the Nungambakkam Police Station for questioning and his blood samples were sent for testing. The police found some vital clues in the investigation following which the actor was arrested and sent to judicial custody till July 7. According to reports, Srikanth is accused of buying drugs and using cocaine. It is also being said that he is in contact with many drug suppliers.
Not only this, the strings of the case are also being linked to former AIADMK member T Prasad who was arrested in a drug case recently. It is believed that Srikanth had bought drugs from T Prasad. Srikanth has been working in the film industry for the last two and a half decades. He started his career in the year 1999 with the TV show Jannal – Marabu Kavithaigal. He first appeared on the big screen in the Tamil film Roja Kootam. He has made a splash with his acting in many Tamil and Telugu films.
