Trump became kind to Iran… offered 2.57 lakh crores for civil nuclear program

USATrump became kind to Iran... offered 2.57 lakh crores for civil nuclear program

A new and surprising turn has emerged on the global stage. The US Trump administration has planned to enter into a new agreement with Iran, which includes assistance of up to $30 billion (about Rs 2.57 lakh crore) to Iran. The proposal includes easing sanctions and releasing billions of dollars of frozen funds. This proposal comes after the recent US attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, which President Donald Trump claimed to have completely destroyed.

Iran’s nuclear program has long been the focus of international controversy. Iran claims that its nuclear program is only for peaceful purposes, such as power generation and medical research. However, the US, Israel and other Western countries fear that Iran may secretly develop nuclear weapons. In 2015, a historic agreement called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was signed between Iran and six global powers (the US, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany). Under this agreement Iran had received sanctions relief in exchange for promises to limit its nuclear program and allow international inspections.

But in 2018, then-President Donald Trump pulled the US out of the deal and reimposed tough sanctions on Iran. In response, Iran also started violating some of the terms of the JCPOA, Such as increasing uranium enrichment to 60%, which is close to the level required for nuclear weapons (90%).

Most recently, in June 2025, Israel and the US carried out airstrikes on Iran’s three major nuclear facilities: Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. The US used 30,000-pound Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) bombs in these attacks, which are designed to destroy deep underground structures.
