The Maharashtra government has dropped the proposal of three language policy. When the state government introduced this proposal, it had to face opposition from the opposition. The opposition had accused the government of imposing the Hindi language and said that the proposal was against Marathi identity. In this regard, Mashelkar Committee was also formed, which gave its suggestions for implementing the three language policy.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis claimed that Uddhav Thackeray had accepted the Mashelkar Committee’s suggestions to implement the three language policy from Class 1. After this, Fadnavis informed that the government has canceled the proposal.
