Earlier, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, in his meeting with Chinese counterpart Dong Jun in Qingdao on June 26, had proposed that India and China should resolve complex issues under a structured roadmap. At the same time, when asked about China’s reaction to the remarks of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said that I can tell you that China and India have established the Special Representative (SR) mechanism on the border question. Political parameters and guiding principles for the settlement of the China-India boundary question have been agreed upon. China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said that China has maintained dialogue with India on various issues including delimitation talks and border management.
The Government is ready to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the border areas and promote cross-border exchange and cooperation. Besides, when asked about the delay in resolving the border issue despite 23 rounds of SR-level talks, Mao said, “The border question is complicated and takes time to resolve.”
