RJD leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejaswi Yadav’s troubles may increase. He has claimed that his name is not in the draft voter list of Bihar. According to Tejashwi, the EPIC number (RAB2916120) that he shared is not in the records. Taking cognizance of this, the Election Commission has issued a notice to Tejashwi Yadav and sought details of the EPIC number RAB2916120 so that it can be investigated.

The Election Commission on Sunday asked RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav to submit for verification the voter ID card he claimed to have even though it was not officially issued. The Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly on Saturday released his voter ID card number, claiming that his name was missing from the draft voters’ list published under Special Intensive Revision (SIR). He also said that his voter ID number was changed after I made it public.

In a letter addressed to the former deputy chief minister, the sub-divisional magistrate-cum-election registration officer of Patna Sadar, Digha assembly constituency, said that our preliminary investigation reveals that the voter ID number you mentioned in the press conference on August 2 It was not officially issued. Hence you are requested to submit the original voter ID card for detailed verification.

The RJD leader then alleged that his voter ID number had been changed, but District Magistrate Thyagaraja SM denied the claim. The District Magistrate said that the EPIC number in the voter list is the same that the Hon’ble Leader of Opposition had submitted in his affidavit in the 2020 Assembly elections. If he has any other EPIC card with some other number, then it is a matter of investigation.
