USAKent Police Department Welcomes New Officer at City Council Meeting

Kent, WA — The Kent Police Department officially introduced its newest officer, J. Hallenbeck, during a recent Kent City Council meeting, where leadership highlighted his background, community ties, and path to law enforcement.

According to the department, Officer Hallenbeck grew up in California before relocating to Washington at age eight. He attended high school in Puyallup and later graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor’s degree in 2008. Prior to joining the Kent Police Department, he spent 14 years working for Boeing, most recently serving as a Quality Inspector.

During the council introduction, department leadership shared why they believe Hallenbeck is an excellent addition to the force, noting his strong work ethic, positive character, and commitment to community service. Officer Hallenbeck also expressed enthusiasm about joining the department, stating that friends who already work in Kent spoke highly of the agency’s reputation and culture.

A notable point shared during the meeting was that Officer Hallenbeck is the first member of his family to serve in law enforcement. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and friends, and participates in golf, softball, and gaming.

The department encouraged the community to welcome Hallenbeck as he begins his service with the Kent Police Department.
