Heavy Rain Forecast Prompts Storm Preparedness in Renton

USAHeavy Rain Forecast Prompts Storm Preparedness in Renton

The City of Renton is urging residents to prepare for heavy rainfall expected in the coming days, emphasizing the importance of keeping storm drains clear to prevent flooding and maintain clean stormwater runoff.

City officials advise residents to remove leaves and debris from nearby storm drains to help reduce clogs and support proper drainage during the storm. In anticipation of potential flooding, King County is offering free sandbags to all county residents. More information on sandbag pickup locations is available at kingcounty.gov/sandbags.

Residents are also encouraged to sign up for critical emergency alerts through rentonwa.gov/alert and review additional emergency preparedness resources at rentonwa.gov/emergencyinfo.

As crews continue distributing sandbags and preparing flood-response materials, the City of Renton reminds the community to stay vigilant, monitor weather updates, and take precautionary measures to stay safe during the upcoming heavy rain.
